This form of intervention is directed to older teens and young adults who are lost in society and are struggling for a direction in life. Symptoms may include associating with troubled friends, using alcohol and/or other drugs, having a brush with the law, moody, sad and/or depressed, unstable emotions, and no fixed values or sense of right and wrong. A strong component employed in this form of therapy is raising self esteem and development of a positive sense of self.
