Dr. Wells has been providing counseling and intervention services for over 20 years, successfully conducting a private practice in offices in two counties. He maintains a deep personal commitment to what he does, working from a spiritual base.

Barry successfully utilizes the classical intervention techniques developed by Vernon Johnson, in addition to family systems theory and Transactional Analysis.

Barry is adept in developing intervention models specific to each situation. He carefully and skillfully leads in-depth meetings with family and close friends to achieve the most intimate understanding of the person who is the subject of the intervention.

In addition to specializing in intervention services, Barry also has expertise in working with youth and young adults, and with dysfunctional families.

Barry's background in the field includes:

• 8 years serving on the Alcohol Advisory Board, Santa Cruz County
• Gang Task Force & Alcohol & Drug Task Force, Santa Cruz County
• Principal of company contracted by U.S. District Courts to provide court-ordered alcohol/drug counseling to Federal probationers and parolees
• Lecturer and teacher with various groups, businesses and colleges
